Distribution of the Internet policy

Respect for laws related to the protection of personal data

The collective labor agreement No. 81 and the Law on Protection of Personal Data of 8 December 1992 requires respecting the principal of transparency when a company or public authority implements a new technology that has a collective impact on working conditions and, which in particular, creates log files of  Internet access.

A company should have what is commonly known as an Internet policy that explains the means used to monitor the company’s internal computer network.  In order to comply with the law, the company must make each employee aware of the means used to monitor and the circumstances under which personal data can be analyzed. It must also specify the retention period of the personal data, and this is actually determined by its particular purpose under the CCT 81 law

OLFEO: PERSONAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE INTERNET POLICY

Olfeo has developed a means of individually distributing the Internet policy as required by the collective labor agreement No. 81 and the Law on Personal Data Protection of 8 December 1992 and to also guarantee that the document has been brought to the attention of each employee.  It is possible to:

  • Customize the introductory text of the document issued to each employee as well as the action button.
  • Upload the approved policy so that it can be downloaded to each employee.
  • Automate the distribution of the document upon a user’s first connection to the Internet or upon release of a new version.
  • Preserve the log files for all employees that certified receipt of the document, including the date of certification......failure to sign prevents Internet access.
